Threaded Rods have multiple applications and uses, but it's main use is for body mounting and u-bolts. These rods are produced to SAE-J429. This material is a cold drawn, stress relieved, micro-alloyed, 1541 modified steel. The physical properties are:

• 150,000 PSI Minimum Tensile Strength, 130,000 PSI Minimum Yield Strength, 120,000 PSI Proof Load, 35% Reduction of Area, 10% Elongation.
• All threaded rods have SAE or FINE Threads and have an oil finish.
  Galvanized or Stainles Steel is NOT available.

These rods have "cold rolled threads" and are NOT threadable beyond the threads that they come with. Typical thread lengths are:

• 3/8, 7/16, 1/2 & 9/16 Inch Diameter Threads
  • Below 12" Rod Length would be 1 1/2" of Threads
  • 12" - 22" Rod Length would be 3" of Threads
  • 24” and up Rod Length would have 4" of Threads

• 5/8, 3/4, 7/8, 1, 1 1/8 & 1 1/4 Inch Diameter Threads
  • Up to 22" Rod Length would be 3" of Threads
  • 24" and up Rod Length would be 6" of Threads
